About

Shirley Mackenzie

My name is Shirley – my professional background is in dentistry. A qualified Dental Nurse and Practice Manager, I have for many years supported a small clinical team in providing our patients with a quality service. I am a caring and conscientious individual and always strive to provide an excellent service in whatever I do, whether the task be big or small. I have always had an interest in animals and have many years of experience looking after dogs and a variety of animals including horses. I have a particular interest in the avian world. At home I enjoy gardening and basic decorating, walking the dogs and sculpting – using wool.

Providing support to my elderly mum over the years has made me realise that there are many people who need just a little help to enable them to live fulfilling and independent lives. I live just outside the village of Cottered , with Jim – my partner of 25 years. I have an enhanced DBS certificate, am fully insured and have excellent references. I aim to provide services within an approximate 10 mile radius of home – so the towns of Royston, Buntingford, Standon, Hertford, Stevenage, Welwyn, Hitchin and the villages between.

This is Boo.

Boo came into our lives when she was found by the local dog warden, wandering around Stevenage industrial estate. She was taken to a local vetinary practice where my partner worked. Boo was found in a very poor state and it took some time for her to recover and show her full charater. Soft and gentle, Boo loves going out for a ride in the car and meeting people. If you love dogs but cannot have one, and would like to meet Boo, I could perhaps bring her to visit!
